Medicaid Unwinding & Redetermination

Delaware Medicaid and CHIP eligibility renewals restarted on April 1, 2023. Over a 12 month period, the state will process renewals based on recipients’ annual renewal date. Some will be required to complete a renewal packet to verify their eligibility for Medicaid coverage.

Enrolled in Medicaid? Take the following steps:

  • Make sure your contact information is up-to-date with Delaware Medicaid.
  • Check your mail and email for communication from Delaware Medicaid.
  • If you receive a renewal form, complete it and return it according to the instructions on the form.

If you have questions or need help with the Medicaid renewal process, or have been denied Medicaid, our enrollment specialists are here to help. If you no longer qualify for Medicaid, you may be eligible for other coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace.

 

Health Insurance Marketplace

Open enrollment for the Health Insurance Marketplace is closed. You may be able to enroll NOW if you have had a life changing event, such as:

  • Loss of Medicaid
  • Loss of employer or other coverage
  • Marriage or divorce
  • Birth or adoptions of a new child
  • A permanent move
  • Loss or change of job
  • Release from incarceration
  • Change in immigration status

Help is available in all languages. You do not have to be a Westside Family Healthcare patient.
When speaking with our certified assisters, you will need:

1. Birth dates of those applying for coverage
2. Social Security numbers and/or immigration documents for those applying for coverage
3. Paystubs, W-2 forms, or other information about your family’s income
4. Policy/member numbers for any current health coverage
5. Information about any health coverage from a job that’s available to you or your family
6. If you have previously enrolled, please bring your Healthcare.gov login and account information
