Financial Assistance

We’re here to help make your care more affordable. Our certified enrollment specialists are available to help you and your family enroll in health insurance coverage and other financial assistance programs to make medical and dental care more affordable.

HEALTH INSURANCE MARKETPLACE (Healthcare.Gov)

Westside’s enrollment team offers application and enrollment assistance to patients and non-patients through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Many people are eligible for low-cost private health coverage plans that cover basic primary care services, medications, maternity care, emergency room visits, and much more. Learn more about private health coverage options in Delaware through the Health Insurance Marketplace by calling 302-472-8655 in New Castle County or 302-678-2205 in Kent/Sussex counties,  emailing enrollment@westsidehealth.org, or visiting our web page.

STATE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE (MEDICAID)

Westside offers help with Medicaid applications through the Delaware Division of Social Services (DSS). Our enrollment specialists will assist you with completing the application and submitting it to DSS for processing to determine if you are eligible to receive Medicaid benefits.

HEALTH CARE CONNECTION & SCREENING FOR LIFE

These state programs connect patients to specialists at reduced cost and cover some cancer screenings at no cost. These programs are not health insurance but make healthcare more affordable. To be eligible, you must be a resident of Delaware, uninsured, ineligible for the Health Insurance Marketplace or Medicaid, and meet financial eligibility guidelines.

MEDICATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

These programs provide assistance to people who are unable to afford their medication costs. Most pharmaceutical companies provide free or discounted medication to people who are uninsured or underinsured. Each program has its own qualifying criteria. Current proof of income may be required. NeedyMeds.org is a great resource for finding help with the cost of medications.

SLIDING FEE SCALE

Our sliding fee scale program offers our patients the opportunity to receive quality affordable health care. Your total household income and number of family members are the basis for determining the fees for your visits.

Please note: Proof of income must be provided annually.
