Westside Family Healthcare Receives HRSA Quality Improvement Award

Westside Family Healthcare is a recipient of Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Quality Improvement Awards as a Silver Health Center Quality Leader (HCQL).  Health centers that received this recognition ranked in the top 20% of all health centers in one or more clinical quality measures that promote behavioral health, diabetes health, and heart health in 2019. These awards recognize the highest performing health centers nationwide as well as those health centers that have made significant quality improvement gains from the previous year.

“Westside is honored to be recognized as a Silver Health Center Quality Leader for 2020,” said Megan Werner, MD, MPH, Associate Medical Director of Population Health and Quality at Westside Family Healthcare. “Westside consistently reevaluated our processes and implemented quality improvement initiatives to drive change, and we are excited to see these efforts result in positive impacts for our patients. While this award is an honor, knowing we are providing comprehensive, high-quality healthcare to underserved patients is the real reward.”

“These quality improvement awards support health centers across the country in delivering care to nearly 30 million people, providing a convenient source of quality care that has grown even more important during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said HHS Secretary Alex Azar. “These awards help ensure that all patients who visit an HRSA-funded health center continue to receive the highest quality of care, including access to COVID-19 testing and treatment.”

Westside achieved significant results by implementing quality improvement activities informed by real-time data. Through team-based collaboration, Westside care teams deployed effective strategies that continue to improve patient health outcomes.  Additionally, Westside was recognized by HRSA with Clinical Quality Improver, Health Disparity Reducer, Advancing Health Information Technology (HIT) for Quality, and Patient Centered Medical Home recognition.
