Lolita Lopez Receives Trailblazer Award from YWCA

Lolita A. Lopez, FACHE, is being honored with this year's Trailblazer Award from YWCA Delaware. Since first taking the position of President and CEO in August 1990, Ms. Lopez has successfully grown the organization from a small, one provider center with 3.5 employees, to today's comprehensive primary care facilities with five locations in New Castle County, 28 full time medical and dental providers, and a total of 152 employees. In 2010, Westside Family Healthcare is expected to care for over 18,000 low-income persons in New Castle County, the majority of whom are women and children.

Ms. Lopez is a member of the Christiana Care Health System Board of Directors, The Delaware Healthy Mother and Infant Consortium, and ACHE Regent's Advisory Council. Ms. Lopez achieved status as a Diplomate of the American College of Healthcare Executives in 2004 and was honored with the Senior Level Healthcare Executive Regent's Award in April 2005. In 2006, she was honored as the first Hispanic inductee into the Delaware Women's Hall of Fame.
